Michele Fabris Terracotta Medici Lion 1950 circa
1.500,00€
A mid-20th century Italian terracotta depiction of the Medici lion, after the carved marble work by Flaminio Vacca (Rome 1538-1605) placed in Piazza della Signoria in Florence, in the Loggia dei Lanzi.
Pacing slowly forward, its left leg raised and placed on top of a mound of earth on a red plastic material ball. This is a fine example of the Medici lion, signed on the belly by the 20th century Italian artist M.Fabris, a very well modelled terracotta sculpture with a silver leaf finish finish, placed on a double black marble base.
The lion figure only, excluding basement measures 13,5 cm in height, by 40 cm width, by 27,7 cm depth and it is in overall good condition, with bone teeth.
The marble base only shows old chip restorations.
It comes from a Milanese palazzo.
Period: 1900
