Early 19th century Italian oil on canvas landscape depicting a river view with ruins, a bridge, falls, architectural elements in the background and two figures in the foreground, a knight and a girl closed to a fountain.
This antique painting is of Piedmontese origin, the Northern Italian region, deeply subject to a heavy Provençal-French influence.
Good condition, canvas has been relined, shows some old restorations and measures 59 by 74 cm. Set in a later black wooden frame decorated with gilded details and showing some worn parts.
It comes from a Milanese private collection.
