19th Century French Nécessaire de Voyage, Mahogany Travel Case with Brass Inlays
French Antique Nécessaire de Voyage a 19th century Mahogany travel case, the top and front have been inlaid with a brass perimeter border and
inlaid with a delicate brass foliate design engraved in the central plate. The central monogram on the brass plate bears the initials ‘A.B.’ topped by a brass engraved crown.
The interior, lined in green moire silk contains ten silvered engraved lidded glass bottles. A mirror is stowed within the lid section.
Inside the box a removable tray full of useful travel, toiletries and purely decorative accessories, with silvered engraved lidded glass bottles.
Underneath the top tray of bottles and jars, sit a vanity and sewing tool tray, The vanity tool tray is fitted with many bone handled items and scissors
A further compartment within the lower level of the box; is fitted with brush and empty compartments.
The box has a working lock, with the brass lock plate engraved.
Wear consistent with age and use. Images details show the condition of this work of art. Except two broken bone accessories, a shoe horn and letter opener this French dressing case is in good condition.
