Early 20th century juggling clown  realized in  Germany       with  painted papier-mâché, resting on a paper lined base,  equipped with a mechanism,  to impress a fun movement.

Turning the key on the back, the clown performs a balance game by spinning three plates on three sticks using the hands and the head.
With glass eyes, this antique mechanical toy from the early 1900 is in good state of conservation, with minimal wear of the garments of the dress.
Of German origin, comes from a private Milanese collection. Automata have attracted the interest of the most refined collectors, since they were kept in the Wunderkammerns.
