Giuseppe Vasi Palazzo Sacchetti Sulla Strada Giulia view drawn and engraved by Giuseppe Vasi (1710-1782), who was one of the most important engravers of views in 18th-century Rome and was Piranesi’s teacher. The view is taken from the monumental work Delle magnificenze di Roma antica e moderna (The Magnificence of Ancient and Modern Rome), published in 10 volumes from 1747 to 1761, consisting of 23 copper engravings with narrative text providing historical and documentary information. It is etched on laid paper and is in good condition. Set in a modern wooden frame.
The lower caption describes the monumental features of the view: Church of San Biagio alla Pagnotta; Church of Santa Maria del Suffragio; Carcere Nuove; Church of the Holy Spirit of the Neapolitans; Palazzo Falconieri; Arch of Palazzo Farnese and Apostolic College.
