The Virgin with cropped hair wears a dress with soft purple and ultramarine drapery and a bold neckline, holds the Child on her lap inside an undefined setting with a window open to a hilly landscape with architecture in the background.

The painting is in good age related condition; it has been cleaned and shows some restorations.17th century Italian Lombard school and comes from a private collection, set in a beautiful gilded gold-leaf of 1800s.
