19th Century Italian St Albert of Trapani Portrait on Copper with frame depicted with a book, crucifix and lilies in his left hand while the right one intends to bless. The Saint is represented with the monastic habit of the Carmelite order. Above the inscription SANCTUS ALBERTUS CARMELI.
Saint Albert of Trapani, in Sicily, born as Alberto degli Abati (Trapani 1240-Messina 1307) is a Carmelite priest and confessor.
The work is an oil painting on copper plate measuring cm. 29.5 x 22.5 and is placed inside a frame decorated with gilt silver plaster palmettes. The painting is Italian and dates back to the first half of the 1800s. Good age related condition minor painting losses in the lower part and a professional cleaning would be recommended.
