Pair of 19th Century Italian Carved Gilt Wood Wall Brackets
Pair of antique Italian gilt wood wall brackets, two wall shelves finely and deeply carved with acanthus scrolls of Rococo style, dating back to mid-19th century and of Florentine origin.
These antique wall brackets are realized and hand-carved in cembran pinewood, supporting a demi-lune shaped moulded shelf, with a dark golden painted top.
They have a delicate Rococo styled cartouche carving and superlative gold leaf gilding,
In overall age related good condition, minor old restorations, wear consistent with age and use.
We have selected these antique wall brackets in a private villa of Milan, by an Italian family of Florentine origin.
The items were in fact part of the family’s house furnishings of an apartment in the charming Medieval town of Certaldo, near Florence.
