Mid-20th Century Italian Carved and Ivory Laquer Console Table and Mirror Set
Italian Wall Mounted Console table with Mirror circa 1950 consisting of two parts and a marble top. Ivory lacquered poplar mirrored console table with red details, made in the first half of the 20th century, in good condition, with signs of wear.
The base consists of two curved fluted cornucopias supporting the shaped shelf of the top, decorated in the centre with a carved shell. The mirror has a single slab mirror but is divided in squares with rosettes and a moulded cimasa in the shape of a shell that evokes the decorative motif of the base. The shaped stone is made of pink-red Breccia Pernice marble and has an old central split that has been restored. Under the top is the label of the antiques firm Edoardo Cassani destined for a residence in Corso Concordia in Milan.
The console table has a matt tempera lacquering in ivory colour with red decorations, in good age related condition, with signs of wear.
