1.200,00€
Marshal Ney Napoleonic Bronze Sculpture after Giuseppe Grandi in good condition, patinated bronze cast sculpture depicting Napoleonic Marshal Ney. Italian origin, this is a multiple, well-executed and patinated, dating back to the first half of the 1900s and bearing the inscription NEY on the front of the base. The original from 1874, which inspired several foundries, is exhibited at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Milan. The original work was realized by sculptor Giuseppe Grandi (1843-1894), one of the leading exponents of the Lombard Scapigliatura movement. Marshal Ney is standing, dressed in uniform and with his sabre at his left side. He is wearing a long coat with military epaulettes. He also wears a feluca on his head. Furthermore, the general seems to be resting pensively. His pose, in fact, does not express his indomitable character. Rather, he appears thoughtful and caught in a moment of intimacy.
