Antique Italian Empire Walnut Bookcase

An extraordinary rare walnut bookcase, a two-tier monumental bibliothéque dating back to Empire period and coming from a private Lombard house but it was originally a furniture in a noble palace in Ferrara.
The lower cabinet part consists of two door sideboards, with one shelf inside and larchwood back; whereas the higher tier has four drawers, doors with metal net and various adjustable, later shelves.
The poplar panes on the back, as well as locks and the bronze decorations applied on the top are not original.
This large antique bookcase is in overall good condition, wear consistent with age and use.
