Italian Graffito Ceramic Umbrella Vase Decorated with Fishes and a Turquoise-Green Seabed habitat, circa 1950. Large Umbrian-made ceramic vase as inferred from the graffito under the base Perugia Italy D625, is decorated in the colors of the Vietrese tradition. A geometric band on a brown background at the base decorated in shades of yellow, blue and red supports the stones of the seabed from which branch off coral and various plants above which swim fish, starfish, jellyfish and various mollusks. The underwater environment is rendered especially truthfully by painted bubbles and skillfully graffitied wave motion. In perfect condition.
