Early 19th Century Italian Neoclassical Overmantel Mirror
Early 19th Century Carved Painted and Partially Giltwood Overmantel Mirror of Lombard origin. Neoclassical rectangular frame with an antique mercury mirror within a profile finely decorated with gilded pastiglia acanthus leaves and two side fluted carved pilasters, decorated with carved gilded capitals. The upper part is centered with pierced and applied giltwood decoration, a scrolled frieze.
This Neoclassical frame is made of walnut wood, shows an unusual original finishing in red Armenian bole, it comes from a private residence in Milan, Lombardy, and it is in good age related conditions.
