Caricature face of a smiling man by the Italian Sculptor Luigi Froni 1901-1965, sculptor from Parma specialized in portraiture, an half-bust cast bronze male figurative sculpture signed and dated 1959. An aged man with little hair, he blends expression lines on his face and a serene and pleased smile. The sculpture comes from a Milanese private collection, features a beautiful patina and is in good condition and bears the artist’s signature written in capital letters on the lower right side with the year 1959.
Luigi Froni’s works were exhibited in 1995 in an exhibition dedicated to him thanks to the Cariparma Bank Foundation in which the sculptor was described as an artist who tries to remove the mask from his models, to restore their authenticity. Froni’s sculpture is existential, denouncing lacerations, loneliness, psychological exasperation…
