A Cristalleria Murano by Giuseppe Toso Murano Blown Glass Chandelier, a 1940s Venetian Murano smoked blown glass twelve-light chandelier, marked in the large central cup with the rooster brand by Cristalleria Murano. See picture detail.
Located in Fondamenta Manin, it is known in 1882 as Vetreria Venezia. In 1884, the Baron Raimondo Franchetti, unique owner of the company changes the name in Vetreria Franchetti. Afterwards, a member of Fratelli Toso Murano glassmaking history, Giuseppe Toso bought the company and reorganized it under the name Cristalleria Murano. In 1902, the company has 500 employees. The Cristalleria Murano closed definitively in 1960s.
This timeless fume chandelier with extremely essential and modern twelve-armed structure, suitable for Edison fourteen bulbs, mounted on old-style wooden candles covered by lattimo glass.
The chandelier has a working wiring, we guess some minor blown glass elements should have been replaced in the past, but it is in overall good condition, wear consistent with age and use.
It was hanged in a private palazzo of Milan, this charming antique chandelier dates back to circa 1940.
The chandelier structure only, without chain, measures centimeter 95 height, by 108 w. by 90 d.
