A late 18th century carved and giltwood altar card or “cantagloria” from Piedmonte, a Northern Italian region. This work was placed on the altar only during Mass and contains prayers that the priest should recite during the Mass.

This antique frame contains a  lyturgical inscription and has an exquisite scrolling carving with a superb gold leaf gilding. Minor gilding losses consistent with use and age.
