20th Century Ercole Barovier Rostrato Murano Glass Chandelier 1940
A very elegant Italian six-light chandelier, a Venetian timeless clear glass pendant realized using the Rostrato technique presented by Ercole Barovier at The Biennale di Venezia in 1938. This innovative technique aimed to create a luminous effect thanks to the many small cusps on the glass, the hundreds of tips that multiply the magic of light.
Six large glass dropping cups make this antique Italian chandelier very versatile and suitable above any dining table.
Good condition, rewired for Italian standards suitable for six Edison 14 bulbs.
This antique chandelier comes from a Milanese private collection. The six small curved leaves placed between the six arms are not the original ones, they have been replaced, realized by sample in a traditional Venetian furnace. See last listed picture with red arrow.
