A late 18th century silver pin ornament from South America, , a shaped embossed silver plate pin, in good condition, it comes from a private home in Milan.
This ornate and unusual item is a shawl pin. It might be of Peruvian origin. It is set with red seeds, one missing.
Peruvian women used these ornate pins to fasten their cloaks or attach shawls to their clothing. It is a fine manufactured work, elegantly chased and of charming design.
