Late 19th century Napoleon III gilt bronze mantel clock, richly decorated with Rocaille, flowery foliage, standing on oval shaped, carved and gilt wood base and glass dome.
The clock rests on four curved feet, the front is richly chiseled with foliage, flowers, a shell and two masks on the lower part.
The white enamel dial marks the hours with Roman numerals with a slight chip at the right charging hole (see detailed images).
The cage of this figural French pendule is topped by a seated girl embracing a cat gently wrapped in a blanket.
Good condition, in working order, it strikes hours and half hours, movement with 7 days charging time and silk suspension. Good quality bronz cast and chasing and stunning and precious fire mercury gilding which is both agate-stone polished and matt.
The bronze table clock only, without glass and bases, measures 40cm high x 28 width x 11 deep, whereas including glass bell and both wooden bases, max sizes are: 50 cm (height), 36 cm (width), 18 cm (depth).
