19th Century Gilt Bronze Table Clock With Cherubs, depicting painting and sculpture arts allegory. This unusual Ormolu table clock is richly decorated with gilt cast bronze scrolling ornamental motifs, of very good quality chasing and with with Angels. One laying Putto on the left side, showing a polychrome painted miniature in his hand, flanked by female sculpture bust and painting colours on the right side, to remind sculpture and painting arts.
An original blue enamel metal globe containing movement, dial with Roman hours and curved snake hands.
This French Pendule stands on a shaped giltwood base, with rose velvet on the top. The whole table clock stands on an ebonized oval basement, within a glass bell.
France, 19th century. Good condition, it comes from a private Milanese collection.
