Pair of Italian Drop-front Desks Lombard-Venetian 18th Century
A Stunning Pair of 18th Century Italian Bureau with Flap, a pair of Italian veneered walnut wood and burl bureau of Lombard – Venetian area, third quarter of 18th century, in good age related condition.
The front shows three and a half deep drawers separated by crosspieces, finely filleted and panelled, decorated with briar reserves within a shaped filleted and herringbone-panelled frame. The same decoration is repeated on the straight sides and the calatoia top.
The lid conceals a chest of drawers consisting of six small drawers inside. An additional side secret drawer under the top.
Frames and moldings are all in head wood. Original handles and locks, internal frame structure in pinewood. This pair of unique and exlusive antique Italian chest of drawers with flap rest on curved feet.
