18th Century Italian Rosewood and Bois de Rose Louis XV Writing Desk
18th Century Italian Louis XV Rosewood and Bois de Rose Writing Desk, an exclusive Neapolitan bureau-plat coming from a private palazzo of Milan, in good working condition.
Very elegant, with perfect proportions, this Italian writing table of Neapolitan origin has a rectangular molded writing top, decorated with rosewood and bois de rose marquetry.
This luxury antique center desk from Italy shows five drawers on the apron on the front, has a serpentine-outlined shape, a curved structure on each side and rests on cabriole legs ending with bronze mounted decoration.
The veneer is placed obliquely in a herringbone pattern, to form both on each surface, elegant opposite contrasts within inlaid frames, whereas each corner profile and molded edge is made of solid rosewood.
Material is original of the period, of the second half of 18th century and thus shows normal signs of age and use.
Period: 1700
