Christ on the Cross, Italian antique religious figure dating back to 18th century, lacking arms and missing at feet and loincloth bow. Laquered with a light ivory color finish with drops of red blood in the side. Jesus is in a traditional pose, with his face resting on his shoulder and his knees bent. This image of the body of Christ has an expressive power that conveys emotion, empathy, pain, resignation, and serenity. This antique wall sculpture is hand-carved in cembran pinewood it is of Italian origin and dates from the 1700s.
