18th Century Italian Baroque Round Capital with Carved Winged Putti Mecca Gilding
2.000,00€
Italian Baroque Capital with Hand-carved Winged Putti from 18th century A Circular Mecca Gilded Frieze Architectural Element circa 1750 in good condition.
This is probably part of an 18th-century Italian liturgical ornament, is a fancy architectural element, round in shape with a bulge placed above a row of foliage, on which are carved three winged cherubs heads. The round capital has a mecca gilding and is in good age related condition, with a lovely original dark patina. The top features a mecca gilding finish and a central hole.
It comes from a private collection of Milan. A beautiful antique decorative piece, an 18th century made in Italy artwork that can be used as lamp basement, to hold plants, candles or a sculpture as in my listed pictures.
