18th Century Italian Maiolica Oval Tile With Landscape, a polychrome majolica Ambrogetta -tile-dating back to 1750 circa, oval shaped with a frame formed by flowers and foliate elements topped by a with a shell. Inside, the tile depicts a rural scene, a landscape with a river, a bridge, with figures and animals and architectures in the background. From 1700 onwards, ambrogetta refers to a glazed, painted and enamelled terracotta tile.
\nThe plaque is in good condition apart from old restorations on the shell and the right-hand side of the frame, as evidenced by the yellowed finish; a small branch is also missing on the left-hand side of the relief frame. On the back there is the label of the antique dealer Florence Taccani Milano.
