Winged Putto Lombard Italian Figure from 1600 Angel in Gilded and Silvered Carved pine wood. 17th-century carved and silvered wooden antique Italian sculpture depicting a standing Cherub figure, resting on a base lacquered in gray, with wings, soft drapery and thick curls in gold-leaf original gilding. The silver-leaf finish\u00a0 of the body has become completely burnished, giving the statue a superlative originalpatina and a pleasing contrasting effect with the gold decorating the wings, cross veil and hair. The wings are attached to the body by large nails. Good age related condition, signs of wear consistent with the period; it has minor losses in the silver finish.
