Felice Zennaro Maternity an original Italian Graffito realized with black smoke on ceramics, on an oval serving dish. The black smoke was fixed on the ceramic surface and maternity is masterfully executed by the painter starting from the dark tones using the graffito technique, a drawing made on a ceramic surface, scratching to create the maternity image.

Felice Zennaro, also known as Leppa, was born on October 8, 1833 in Pellestrina in the province of Venice. His first artistic training takes place at the Academy of Venice, where he presumably knows Natale Schiavoni, who had already settled definitively in the lagoon city. Later Zennaro is in Milan, at the Academy of Brera, a pupil of Giuseppe Bertini, often interrupted studies to be able to fight voluntary in the wars of Independence against Austria, of which patriotic paintings such as La Battaglia della Bezzecca are testified, work of effective dramatic interpretation, (Milan, Museum of the Risorgimento), in which the artist was wounded and given for dead. In 1865 he presented to Brera Turca, purchased by the Society of Fine Arts. In 1898 he was in Turin with the painting Ingenuit\u00e0 e buon cuore; two years later, at the Milanese exhibition of nineteenth-century Lombard painting, he exhibited First Steps. Even the gender subjects of Felice Zennaro often refer to the Risorgimento epic or are linked to it. Also interesting is his work as a portrait painter as evidenced by the paintings: Autoritratto, Portrait of Count Francesco Annoni, Portrait of Signora Cottini (Milan, Gallery of Modern Art). He died in Milan on March 7, 1926.
