Pair of Carved and Giltwood Lions, 19th Century Sculptures from Siena
Pair of hand-carved and giltwood lion sculptures, two stilobate lying lion figures realized in pinus cembra wood, mounted on black painted curved shaped basements. Of Italian origin, they come from a magic place near Siena, from San Quirico d’Orcia and date back to mid 19th century.
They are finished only on frontal side. Both figures show old restorations on the front legs and tail. legs, minor gilding losses in the nose.
We would suggest to restore them and if requested, we could quote a conservative restoration.
