Large Pair of Imari Japanese Porcelain Vases

An impressive and rare pair of large Imari Japanese porcelain vases, 165 cms high, dating back to last quarter of 19th century. Features a spring floral motif in cobalt blue, red and white with gold trim. They are decorated with four tableaux with plants, birds,vegetal elements and flower vases.
Unusual large size, they have a wide flaring form with ruffled rim painted inside with red flowers.
They stand on a porcelain basement (24 cm high), painted with the same decoration motif and a carved and ebonized wooden one, 15 cm high, for a total height of 165 cms.
