Large 19th Century French Gilt Wood Mirror with Mercury Glass
Large and tall antique carved and gilded wooden mirror with superb original mercury glass measuring 54 x 36 inches, a whole plate.
The big frame measures 75 inches high by 49 width and it is finely carved and decorated with a jutting shell shaped top flanked by foliate scrolls and floral, leaf shaped pastiglia ornaments in each corner.
French origin, this antique rectangular mirror was hanged in a private residence in Milan Downtown and dates back to mid-19th century.
In overall good condition, wear consistent with use and age.
It is really uncommon to find such a large whole, unique mercury plate mirror.

Cembran pinewood frame and shaped cimasa are embellished with a deep carving, floral decorations, embellished with cherub heads, flanked by six winged putti masks, leaves and scrolls descending on the sides, supported by two angels, cornucopia with memento and crowns at the base. The lateral carving is enriched by further putti heads within scrolls, while the lower part of this antique mirror is adorned with vegetal motifs. The frame has an horizontal structure, centered by a modern mirror measuring 40 cm x 60 cm. The work comes from a private residence in Milan and it is in good condition, wear consistent with age and use, a minor missing leaf of the left lower part.
Italian antique ivory color painted and giltwood mirror, dating back to early 19th century. This elegant Neoclassical overmantel mirror is decorated with giltwood floral and vegetal ornaments and two columns, fluted and decorated with golden masks and elements. Good age related condition, with later ivory painting and glass mirror.
