From Italy a mid-19th century carved and golden leaf gilded wooden mirror with antique original dark mercury glass, in a whole plate. This shaped Louis Philippe Italian frame is finely carved with bulino and punched ground, finely decorated with foliate scrolling and floral patterns with a lovely matte and gloss gilding effect. Italian origin, this antique rectangular mirror was hanged in a private residence in Milan downtown, might be hanged in both sizes, either vertically or horizontally. Gilt wood frame thickness is 15 cm / 6 inches in the straight part, whereas in the corners, it is larger, thicker in the curvilinear shaped part, measuring 18 cm / 7 inches. In overall good age related condition, wear consistent with use and age, some minor gilding losses.
