Four 19th Century Directoire Italian Chairs from Genoa
Four 19th century Directoire Genoese maple chairs, a group of four Ligurian chairs, maple veneered marked inside the structure with initials VB Maple, to be restored. The edge of the backrest is decorated with an ebony profile, of Ligurian origin, they come from a private palazzo in Genoa.
The chairs structure is in good condition, with wear consistent with age and use, we have just replaced the upholstery with a new stripped velvet.
This set of four antique Genoese chairs dates back to the first decades of the 19th century and for your dining or living room set, we have available a pair of matching armchairs.

This is a beautiful set of four solid mahogany chairs in the fabulous Empire style made in Italy in the late 20th century. The mahogany is beautiful in color and has been embellished with striking ormolu mounts typical of the era, finely cast and gilded elaborate bronze mount to the backs. Curved cabriole legs ending with carved hoof feet.
They have been new upholstered in a fabulous red and gold patterned damask silk of French origin. Condition: In good age related condition having been beautifully polished and upholstered, see photos for confirmation, only two small bronze elements missing, two arrows. They date back to the second half of 20th century and come from a private residence of Milan.
