Early 19th Century Piedmontese Empire Eight-Light Crystal Chandelier
Antique original Empire eight-light crystal chandelier, dating back to early 19th century, of Italian origin, coming from a Piedmontese private palazzo.
The round structure consists of four circular bronze crowns engraved with burin geometric decorations on the outer side; the bronze rings are joined together by oval crystal chains and original crossed patterns of beaded decorations. The larger crown is decorated with unique grafts of leaves like a fern made with crystals strung on an iron core.
The whole structure is finely decorated with crystal swags and diamond-shaped prisms. Eight scroll-shaped bronze arms ending with precious crystal bobeches.
This antique chandelier comes from a private Piedmont residence, where once it was wired for electricity; That justifies the holes in the carved and gilt wood element in the upper part.
It is in good condition, without wiring. Dimensions (in.): 110 cm high x 85 cm
