20th Century Polish Art Deco Silver Hanukkah Lamp Menorah
Early 20th century Art Deco silver Hanukkah Lamp Menorah, Poland, circa 1920. Essential design and timeless elegance feature this antique silver Jewish lamp handmade with a rectangular base and two sphere supports connected to a demi lune shaped squared section main body . With eight oil receptacles and original servant lamp inserted in the center.
Marked with silvermaker mark JS and Polish silver mark on the base.

The lamp is in good age related condition, comes from a villa on Lake Maggiore and weighs 533 grams and is in good condition except for a small dent on the edge of a candle and one on the edge of the base. The hanukkah feast commemorates the victory of the stiffs over the Syrian Seleucid army the victorious stiffs wanted to re-inaugurate the temple of Jerusalem but they only found a small vial supposed to last only 1 day but which miraculously lasted a week the hanukkah feast festival of lights symbolizes the victory of light over darkness.
