An antique French Napoleon III rosewood sewing table, dating back to circa 1870, in good condition. A stunning quality rosewood centre sewing table, finished on all sides, with elegant geometrical brass inlays, fully decorated by gilt bronze scrolling elements.
The shaped top has a brass squared inlays and a delightful gilt bronze profile. The lift-up lid opens up to reveal a central mirror and a removable detachable rosewood tray incorporating three compartments.
Below a second compartment. Further below, a deep pullout-sewing drawer, which includes further brass ormolu gilt decoration.
The table is supported by tapered, curved cabriole legs, with stunning brass ormolu detail to the knees, edged in decorative beading, and terminates on ornate ormolu toe caps.
This table displays profuse ormolu detail throughout. Ormolu decorations have been all brushed and cleaned.
The table features a dark rosewood colour. It comes from a private family in Milan and is in now good conditions with a perfect brilliant French gommalacca polish. See last listed image previous restoration and polishing.

A late 19th century Napoleon III gilt bronze mounted mahogany bureau à cylindre, a French Bureau de Dame, a writing desk with cartonnier which opens up by sliding the central drawer. Inside, a writing tablette with dark leather and three little drawers.
The upper structure with three small drawers, standing on curved legs, this exclusive bureau is richly decorated with gilt bronze mounted elements with foliate scrolling and vegetal patterns.
It comes from a private villa in Milan and it is in overall good condition, with minor losses, wear consistent with age and use.
