18th Century Set of Six Italian Gilt Iron Arms Suitable as Wall Lights
From Northern Italy a rare set of six 18th century gilt wrought iron arms, hanging lantern brackets suitable as sconces just modifying the insert grafts. These iron arms are fully handmade with curved scrolling iron structure, decorated with elegant gilt wrought iron leaves and gildwood balls.
Good age related condition, the six arms have the same shape and structure but slightly different sizes, with minor losses, missing giltwood balls in four of item. The gilding of the arms is in good condition, excellent feature in case of their use as sconces, overturning the irons compared to their original use. Some small lacks in the leaves of the crowns of the bobeches , as visible in the picture details. Northern Italy, 1700.
Originally these Italian artworks were arms that, fixed in a ring placed on the wall, were used to hold the chains of votive lamps in churches, as attested by the hooks placed at the ends or the pulleys in some of them, suitable for lighting and maintenance of the lamps.
Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago requires a governative license for export called Belle Arti. The shipping may require additional 2/3 handling weeks to require and get the license according to the final destination of the artwork.

Pair of mid 20th Century Maria Theresa crystal sconces with mirror. Three curved arms, fully arranged with cut glass fan shaped pendants, chains and drops, ending with floral cur glass bobeche. Very good condition since fully restored . Curved flat steel structure has been gold painted, rewired and recoated with crystal strips, rosettes and dressed with crystal chains and drops.
