Italian 18th Century Mecca Gilding Mirror with Mercury Glass, in one single plate, an antiqued double framed mecca mirror of Piedmonte region, Turin origin, in good condition.
The lower frieze and the upper hand carved frieze are later and they might have been custom-made on the model of the original ones. It comes from a Milanese private palazzo.

Our offers
Cembran pinewood frame and shaped cimasa are embellished with a deep carving, floral decorations, embellished with cherub heads, flanked by six winged putti masks, leaves and scrolls descending on the sides, supported by two angels, cornucopia with memento and crowns at the base. The lateral carving is enriched by further putti heads within scrolls, while the lower part of this antique mirror is adorned with vegetal motifs. The frame has an horizontal structure, centered by a modern mirror measuring 40 cm x 60 cm. The work comes from a private residence in Milan and it is in good condition, wear consistent with age and use, a minor missing leaf of the left lower part.
