A rare 18th century Louis XVI Italian carved and gilded table Lectern, an antique spruce wood bookstand or music stand carved with scrolling motifs centered by a cherub head and painted in ivory color.
This antique reading bookstand is adjustable, can tilt of about 45° and can turn. Italian origin, it comes from a private villa of Arezzo, Tuscany region. This antique table lectern is much more than a desk accessory, it will add an impressive, sacred atmosphere to any room.Rectangular shape resting on carved, curved legs ending with lovely open mouth animal feet, whereas back feet are just curled.
Material and gilding are original of 18th century and thus shows normal signs of age and use. Minor losses and old glued parts of frontal feet.
