Pair of mid-17th century Italian Sculpture, lacquered and gilded carved angels with candleholder, two cherubs with cornucopia carved in the round, gilded and polychrome lacquered wood, 1650s circa. The angels are standing on stylized cloud-carved and silver-plated bases, the two cherubs are dressed in soft red lacquered drapery with gilded borders and stoles, holding the blue lacquered cornucopia with octagonal faceting with one arm and point to the sky with the other hand. The expressions on the faces are serene with the hair characterized by deep golden curls. The two figures have graceful and well-proportioned postures; they show signs of use and wear, widespread color losses consistent with 17th-century artworks. They come from northern Italy.
